Chaperone Dubs Brockville a Success

This report has been filed by a Brockville Chaperone:

“On Friday July 25th, Amy, Kate, Kevin, Ryan, Evan, Ellen, Laura, Claire L. and Andrew the coach went to Brockville to sail.  All of the sailors who left SLSC returned to SLSC in one piece; there were no reported incidents with U.S. Homeland Security or bail bondspeople;  all of the boats and equipment returned unscathed;  the trailors worked;  the vehicles got us there and back; everyone was polite and, perhaps most remarkably, all of Ellen’s footwear that left SLSC arrived back at SLSC on Sunday night (Oh ya, it was windy and they sailed too.)  I consider this to have been a highly successful regatta.”

P.S.  Evan and Ellen followed closely by Kevin and Ryan were the top SLSC sailors, but results overall were hurt by some over earlies and a few capsizes.  Both Amy and Evan took shots at protesting the race committee  for various grievous injustices; both were rebuffed (Evan notwithstanding that the injustice of it all was acknowledged by the Committee).  Stony Lake ruled the regatta from a results perspective placing 1, 2, 3 and 4.  Now we know the competition.  For results see this link: http://www.byclub.ca/BYCRegattaResults-DoubleHanded2008.html
