Sturgeon Lake Sailing Club was founded in 1956 by a group of forward-thinking and dedicated individuals. The sailing club has offered sailing instruction for over 60 summers to hundreds and hundreds of local children. The club has evolved over time and the boats and people have changed but the nature of the place has not changed at all. The friendly environment where young people learn to sail and learn good sportsmanship remains.

Every year during the Civic Long Weekend, SLSC hosts the Civic Regatta.  Here is a list of the Civic Regatta Trophies with details of past winners, highlighting the changes in boats used over the years.

We celebrated 50 years at our Golden Gala in 2006 and look forward to another 50 years of good sailing on Sturgeon Lake.
