WEEK 5
Ruby and I have some enormous shoes to fill following the departure of Charlie and his incredible newsletters (we miss you Charlie!!). The summer is absolutely flying by, and it’s hard to believe we’re already more than halfway through the summer! Our sailors have shown so much enthusiasm and progress already, and we are so excited to see where the rest of the summer takes us.
TUESDAY MOVIE NIGHT:
As per usual, movie nights on Tuesdays at 6 pm. The movie has a $1 entry fee, and bring extra cash for candy and freezies. Bring a REUSABLE CUP for juice, and maybe a change of clothes if you’re the victim of a brutal scaring on the Wroe’s hill on your way home. Pick up is at 8 pm for the first movie, and if you are 13+ join us for the second movie, which is another $1!!!
WEDNESDAY FUN DAY:
It was Christmas in August this week at SLSC!!! Our instructor elves were hard at work creating an extra festive day for our sailors. From hunting around the club to find Santa, to pulling our trusty sleigh (our trusty Ahab) out on the water, it was a holly jolly time!! Please remember that club ends a bit later on Wednesdays, as there is pizza lunch!! Huge shoutout to Chloe Schumacher for taking over for Sandy! (We miss you too Sandy!!) Pick up on Wednesdays is 1 pm, rather than 12:30 pm.
FRIDAY NIGHT DANCE:
This Friday, dig out your crazy prints, socks & sandals, and mismatched everything. It’s the “What not to wear” dance!! It will be a super fun night full of fashion faux-pas; so swing by the club from 7-9 in your very best (or worst) outfits. It’s $2 to get in (for 2 times the fun!!) and once again, bring your extra change for pop, candy, and freezies! The best, most hideous outfit will win an epic prize!!!!
SUNDAY AFTS:
Hopefully, you’re all rested up from an amazing CIVIC, and ready to get racing again! There will be Sunday Afts this Sunday, Aug 7th. Skipper’s meeting at 1 pm and first gun at 1:30 pm! We hope to see you all there because somebody needs to dethrone Rowan’s #LoveBoat …
COTTAGE CLUB:
Join us in wishing both the Feva and 420 race teams good luck at Cottage Club Regatta!!! Are you team Brake or Shanuki??? Good luck sailors!!
N’OUBLIEZ PAS:

Please remind your sailors to bring a water bottle, snacks, towel, and sunscreen to club everyday. As we are expecting some rainy days, please also remember to pack foul weather gear, such as a raincoat.
As always, if you’re driving to club, please be extra mindful of sailors biking to ans from club.
Last but definetly not least, please remember that club starts at 8:30 so try not to arrive before then!!!
