SLSC 2019: Chapter 6

Civic Regatta

A HUGE thank you is needed to all of our volunteers who made the Civic Holiday Regatta such a success! Maija Rix, Tom Kidd, Jack Foxwell, Harry Doane and Cathy DesBrisay helped out as mark and safety boats; Sophie Day and Jon Kidd made our lunches, and Sara GIlchrsit and Elliott Ollerhead helped out on RC. A big thanks to Will Ollerhead and Koo Chun for distributing the lunches. Henrietta Langran-DesBrisay provided all of the delicious homemade granola bars in the lunches. Thank you to the CanSail 4s and 5s  for organizing the ice cream bar and for helping to set up for prize giving.

Congratulations to all of our sailors who competed this weekend. We had great wind and warm weather, and were able to get 4 races in for the Laser, Handicap, and 420 fleets, and 3 for our feva and pico fleets!

Returning champions and sailing club legends, Kate and Amy, once again took home the trophy for the 420 fleet. Our feva champs are Trinity Dowling and Hanneli Carpenter. Jaime Wisener and Rob Hodge took home the gold in the Handicap fleet in the Nacra. This should come as no surprise to anyone, but Richard Roberts has once again won the Laser fleet.

On the little course, Charlotte Aspinwall and Tate Hodge won the pico fleet and James Ryan-Davis and Collin Alton won the feva fleet.
