The Sturgeon Lake Sailing Club is pleased to announce that the 2013 Mid Ontario Championship Regatta will be held on July 13-14. Classes will include Laser, Radial and Club 420, with racing starting for all classes on the morning of Saturday, July 13, 2013.
The ‘MIDS’ Regatta is hosted by SLSC every other year and has historically been one of the best attended dinghy regattas in the province. This year, we are the District III Championship Regatta and a Fogh Gold Cup Regatta for Laser and Radial sailors and an Ontario Sailing Grand Prix Series Event for Laser, Radial and Club 420 sailors aged 20 and under as at December 31, 2013. We look forward to welcoming sailors from across the province and from elsewhere in Canada and the U.S. for a great event. The Regatta will be hosted in the fine tradition of our close Sturgeon Lake community. We hope that you will include the ‘MIDS’ on your 2013 racing schedule.
GENERAL NOTE ON ACCOMMODATIONS: Accommodation will be camping on cottage properties in the Village of Sturgeon Point, with a limited number of beds available in cottages for Masters sailors.
NOTE TO MASTERS SAILORS AND THEIR GUESTS: Please send an email to [email protected] if you are looking to have a bed to sleep in and a roof over your head. As noted, we have a limited number of beds available for Masters sailors and their guests. These will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. We are hoping to be able to accommodate all Masters sailors looking for a bed. We regret that we cannot accommodate pets.
NOTE TO CLUB RACE COACHES: Club race teams are encouraged to participate. We will accommodate club teams together on one site. Please email [email protected] to let us know the name of your club and the approximate size of the group that you are looking to have accommodated on one site (number of tents, number of sailors, number of chaperones). It will make our planning easier if we can have this information as soon as possible.
